Nice job on the rings. What is the wood? Walnut or maybe mahogany? Also, is that a custom turning tool you made? I haven't seen one like that before.

I would also be interested in knowing what you are using for captured rings? I don't have any special tools to make them so I just get by with what I have. Would love to make some!

If I remember correctly Alan Dewey made his own tools many from old screw drivers he picked up in flea markets.

He made 5 sets for a workshop at my house 7-8 years ago. The screwdrivers cost about $1 each from a local store near his home.
