At the suggestion of someone else - I'll take a little time to introduce myself.
I'm Tim and I live in Troutman, NC. I have lived in the NC in the Lake Norman area since 1993. I grew up in SC in Spartanburg/Greenville area. I moved here after graduating from Clemson with a mechanical engineering degree.
I started working with Ingersoll Rand in 1993 in an engineering position and worked there through 2001. In 2001, I left IR and moved to Greenville, SC to work for GE's Industrial Turbine division in a more analytical and hardcore component development role. I learned a lot there, but quickly found that Finite Element Analysis wasn't what I wanted to do for the next 5-10 years. Somehow, I ended up taking another position with IR back in the Lake Norman area early in 2003. By 2006, I had become dissatisfied with a few taspects of my role in the corporate environment and decided to try a career change. Thus I am presently a project manager for a small home builder in the Lake Norman area. I guess I am still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up!
I tend to have more hobbies than I have time. I have a pilot's license but gave that up due to the time and money commitment required. I still fly RC planes and helicopters so I can satisfy my interest in flight. I have not been active in woodworking very long, but I watched and helped my father througout my childhood as it was always a passion of his. I'm still collecting all the tools I need and my garage has to do double duty with sawdust and ocassional oil change or other routine car maintenance.
Look forward to getting to know everyone.
Tim
