an innocent post about a landscaping business for sale on CL went rapidly downhill, referencing more than a few stereotypes and such. It was best dealt with as Clay did moving it to moderation. I read up on the thread, to see what caused it, and felt it was best to delete the whole thing, tho' the first three posts were actually on track with content, DaveO not being sure how the guy could claim 20% profit in landscaping... some one else thinking that the entire staff might be Hispanic, and illegal, earning at best minimum wage, then a few remarks leaning towards race issues started coming out.... Sheesh. I guess that breaks it down pretty well. Deleting it, like I did, prevents anyone from reactivating the thing (maybe Steve, or Monty could fix that???), even with the offending posts deleted. No reason to raise that thing again.

That was the correct thing to do.:icon_thum

Though I would liked to have seen the posts before they were permanently deleted. Threads/post in moderation can only be seen by us, so you could have have waited a bit.:lol:

Honestly guys, that is the first thread I have ever yanked in its entirity. I even got a response back from Jim (fernhollowman), thanking me, and claiming the thread went downhill because of him.

We still have a great site guys. Full of great passionate people. I love it.

Kind of makes you wonder why fernhollowman didn't just delete his own garbage and leave the thread. Regardless, goiod call (IMHO) on kicking it to moderation.
