I turned a nice handle for my Narlex scribe kit. To drill the hole, ideally one would have a chuck on the lathe. Not ready for that. Someday.
Well I looked at my drill press and the hole in the table exactly supports a 1 inch Forsner bit. So I said cool, I have a center point on the bottom and can use the bit to center the top, clamp and drill away. Wrong. Turns out the hole is about 1/8 inch forward of the chuck. Chalk one up for Delta, again. :(

I made a quick jig out of a scrap with a point I lined up. Might make something more precise later, but for now, waiting on the epoxy to cure on my new square awl ! Nice big bulb handle.
