FWIW, to send a PM to an individual from a post, I usually just hover the cursor over their name in the block on the left and click in the pop-up on the box "Start Conversation". YMMV

Not sure how it works on a phone, however.

I'm interested! I've actually be scouring 'want ads' recently to see what is available, so this would be a good option for me right now to see if I like it before the investment. I turned a couple of things in shop class in the early 80's. Haven't had any opportunities since then.

As a new user, you do not have permissions to begin a conversation. Someone else will need to start, and you can respond to them. You have to be a member for 30 days and have 5 posts in that time to be promoted to standard user state. If it has been longer than 30 days since your last post, you will regain your previous user status after midnight on the day you log back in.

Ask on the forum for someone to "Start Conversation" if you need to PM them. This works until your 30 days are filled.
