The Inhibitor - rust prevention

This product was mentioned in todays N&O Outdoors section as a rust inhibitor for tackle boxes. Looks like it could work in a tool cabinet or drawer in humid/unconditioned shops. Or, it could be a boondoggle.

I've been throwing use silica gel packs in my tool drawers. I don't know if it helps but don't think it hurts. It reads "do not eat" on the packages, but when the Slim Jims run out, that stuff can tide me over until I get back in the house.

The write up under the ad says it can be used for tools. Has anyone here every used this product before? How reliable is it?
