Finished just in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
Some of you may recognize this as the piece of Kiatt that was leaning against the wall at East Wake Hardwoods for a long time. I finally convinced my wife that it would make a better dining table than a prop for Roger's wall.
We had Mike Smith cut it to 18" wide, parallel to the straightest edge. This did two things: first, it enabled us to put it through Roger's 24" planer, and also it was narrow enough for Mike to cut it in half so I could book match the two halves. This then made a 36" wide table. I put butterflies across all the checks so as not to waste any of the length. I wound up with a table 36"x 103". This will give everyone plenty of elbow room at the table for Thanksgiving.

Thanks! I brushed on 6 coats of DEFT Lacquer, sanding after everyother coat. Then wet sanded with 800 grit and then buffed with 3M Finesse-it.

It's a trestle design made with poplar, painted sage green to match room decor. It will soon be sitting on a new hardwood floor.

I remember that piece of wood. I just left from up at Rogers place. You did a fine job on the table and made great use out of that piece of wood.

Hey, I also remember that plank. You really did the beauty of the wood justice. Nice craftsmanship and a beautiful finish. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
