Finished just in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
Some of you may recognize this as the piece of Kiatt that was leaning against the wall at East Wake Hardwoods for a long time. I finally convinced my wife that it would make a better dining table than a prop for Roger's wall.
We had Mike Smith cut it to 18" wide, parallel to the straightest edge. This did two things: first, it enabled us to put it through Roger's 24" planer, and also it was narrow enough for Mike to cut it in half so I could book match the two halves. This then made a 36" wide table. I put butterflies across all the checks so as not to waste any of the length. I wound up with a table 36"x 103". This will give everyone plenty of elbow room at the table for Thanksgiving.
