I was most generously sent a "care package" of some scrap wood that I could make pen blanks out of. Among all the nice wood I found this gem, I had to turn it right away. I took some of Eagle's advice and didn't have the problem at the finial like earlier, but tried to under turn the blank at the nib end and ended up with a little dip, but a nice transition so I am happy. One day I'll turn the perfect pen......maybe, some day.

You are most welcome Dave----------that wood looks much better in a pen than collecting dust under my workbench. I am anxious to see what some of the other woods look like in pens, especially the red bud.:)
