I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bostik Glidecote. I've been using it since it came out as a Sandaro product in the 1990s then called then Top Cote. I use it mainly on the jointer and planer before a big job but I'll use it on the table saw from time to time also. It goes on quick and is easy to see the coverage. The hazy film quickly dries so you can see the coverage. The film is removed quickly with an old rag.

I used to do a lot of planer and jointer knife setting for others. During the process I'd spray on a coat when no one was looking. It made my work seem wonderful to the machine users.

I think I read somewhere that car waxes are not a good choice- am sure someone will recall if I got that right. I still have some JP and will move to another furniture wax when I run out……
you want to make sure they don't have silica or that will affect your finish

I have TopCode but don't like to use it. I must just be a messy person but every time I have used it I would get it on the floor and it with saw dust makes for a very slippery floor.
