System Down - I'm so sorry

I must really apologize. I did something very stupid and I still don't exactly what. I had to do a partial restore of the system, basiclly the the style and template system. I seemed to have a lot trouble doing it and then there was a step I didn't know about and I have been going around in circles for several hours.

It is still not correct, it seems a bunch of changes have been lost. I really need to find and restore them before they roll off the backup list.

Anyway the site is usable again and I will try to keep it that way.

Actually, I am really embarassed:embaresse. Now that I have the system back and see what was wrong., I have to find the right backup for the templates. Have to wait on the Datacenter people. Either theychaged were they keep the database backups, or they haven't been taking any since the end of November:elvis:

That's the thing with puters. They don't tell you when you are about to miss a step. I build applications for a living and always surprise myself by missing something. Did it at least twice today.

Take the rest of the day off and enjoy the turkey, and the leftovers, and the leftovers .... Then take a nap.

We all have a lot to be thankful for this week, not the least is your work in keeping "our" site up and running.

I think the templates are right under the alternator, right next to the flux capacitor. :icon_scra :wconfused: :swoon:

I'm not sure what any of that means Steve, but don't sweat it. Everybody makes a mistake once in a while. :icon_thum

For what its worth, I think even with temporary problems we all got our money's worth from the site today - as every day! Wish I could afford to pay what this site is worth to me personally!
More than likely we'll all survive.
I bet you had to unplug the site long enough to use the microwave and coffeemaker at the same time, huh??:gar-Bi

I don't know, Steve... I was on at 1PM this afternoon and all seemed fine and now I log in at 8:30 and everything seems fine... Are you really sure you messed up? Sure fooled me... But thanks for fixing all of the mistakes that Bas probably really made... or was it Chad? :gar-Bi

First of all: yes, it's probably Bas' fault.

Second of all: no one can repeat what you did if you don't know what you did!

Third of all: there's only two times you're not making mistakes-when you aren't doing anything, or you're dead! And you're not either.
