Some stuff I've turned, just finished the goblet this morning.

The goblet and vase I finished with Danish oil then paste wax.

The bowl I stained Red Mahogany, then paste waxed.

Goblet made from Black Cherry I got from Bob (WoodArtz)

The vase I did from Maple I got from Phil (ptt49er)

The bowl was my second attempt, didn't do too well in the sanding. I learned the lesson between good sandpaper and the borg stuff on this. Also made from the maple I got from Phil.

Yep, my wife went and bought me two paper bags full of Klingspor sandpaper.

Randy, I don't know the dimensions, I just put a chunk of wood in and started turning.

One thing to note, I picked up a copy of a wood turning magazine at the book store, neat magazine, but only comes out 4 times a year. Anyway, they had an article on building a photography lighting tent out of 5 foam poster boards and some gray cloth. I through one together, took about 30 minutes, shined a light inside and took pictures. They came out awesome, much better the just putting one on the table and snapping pictures.

Great looking turnings.
I agree on the sand paper. I'll be passing through NC in a couple of weeks and hope to stop at Klinspor on the way through Charlotte. Never been and I would like to see a store up front and personal. I have made several puchases via their web site.

I'm glad to see one of us is turning some of that maple, I've got chunks and chunks in the basement. It looks like that vase has a little curl to it, I found a piece of mine did.

Nice work!!

Rob, nice work. I am glad you are getting good use out of the new lathe. BTW I was given a dozen back issues of American Woodturner. They have some great articles. You or anyone else are more then welocme to borrow them.
