Student made a cutting board

I have a couple part time students from time to time. One of them as of late is a new one Young in the Army who wants to learn about wood working. He has good innate skills, good hand /eye coordination and a has a great attitude.

He wanted to make a cutting board for his mom and dad (all live here) and decided on using the following woods:

Maple, Santos, Paduk, Tigerwood, Ohia and Wenge (out side banding is the Wenge and Ohia).

He did a nice job, learned alot on the project and as a result ended up with a nice looking board. Oil finish is mineral oil/beeswax/carnuba wax mix.
Happy guy. The other gentlemen is his God father, also a great and interesting person.
