Star knobs and threaded inserts

I'm looking to build some table saw and router table jigs that have adjustable parts and require small knobs and inserts. I'm looking for something that will work well in hardwood, MDF, or plywood.

Does anyone have a preference for a brand or style?

There is this style from Uxcell:

And these from EZ-Lock:

The reviews on Amazon are all over the place on these. It's like they're not even reviewing the same product.

Following this as I need to / plan to do the same. Some jigs I have used several times (for example - a leg tapering jig) and each time it is a one-off type kludge (works, but takes too much time).

I've used both and they have their place, particularly in blind holes like turned stuff.
For hold down on a flat panel, a t-nut is going to be hard to beat. It resists torque in either direction.
