Source of Red Oak

Folks,
I'm planning to build an entertainment center and a couple of other small things in red oak. I was planning to get the wood at the local Lowes or HD, not knowing anything better. Where else could I find red oak in the triangle area, knowing that I do not have a planer in my shop yet.

Try Meyer Deco on 401 S in Garner. They've got RO milled to 13/16" which should save you having to mill rough lumber. No affiliation, but I've been happy with their quality and prices.

The Borg red oak is between $6 - $8 a board foot, and most is flat sawn. May want to pick one of the two options stated above for some quarter sawn for door stiles and rails.
