Sorry, this is a little late

This is a little past do since I've been a member for a couple of months. I'm a new woodworker in Greenville NC. I discovered this site when I rediscovered woodworking this summer. My wife and I had our first child in August. (Why sometimes I'm logged in at crazy times at night. Fun to see who else is logged on.) In the months prior I was given the go ahead to build a majority of her furniture. This was a wonderful opportunity for me to stock the shop with tools. As a teacher I have the summer off and I was given a deadline of the second weekend in July for the baby shower. In June I built her dresser, night stand, toy box and bookshelf.

I used to be dads helper and he kept me busy when I was a kid. I don't know where it came from when I said at dinner one night "I think I can build that" (yea I do, the insane cost of baby stuff) but I'm glad I did!

Bryan, nice to finally 'meet' you. I'm like you my interest in woodworking peaked when I finally homesteaded and had a child. Making something for your family, better than you can buy in the store, is very gratifying. I look forward to your continued input in the forums.
