Sliding leg vise with X cross

Loved the design. Working on one myself.
What I've got so far:

On my todo list is to modify the bottom of my sliding leg vise. It replaced a sliding deadman with the normal inverted “V” track atop the bench lower front rail. Deadmen only support vertical forces. Tightening stock in a sliding leg vise makes the leg want to climb up the “V”.

One of these days I’ll replace that “V” with a rectangular tongue and groove.
