Well....

Have a friend who offered us her beach house for week in Southport in exchange for a pair of simple Adirondack chairs. What a deal, eh?!

Finally got them done today. I used two coats of Glidden Gripper primer and that stuff went on really nice. (The new owner of the chairs had not decided on a color and just wanted them primed.)

Here is a shot of the finished chairs....

Oh ya. None of my projects seem to get done these days without a new tool. Bought me this little Bosch Colt for the small stuff (ie round overs). It sure performed very well and feels really nice in the hand. I highly recommend it. if you are in the market for a small laminate trimmer!(Sorry 'bout the picture orientation! :slap: )

Are the chairs for the beach house? They look great. Just right for watching the little birds walk (I mean fly) by. Any time my brother needs something fixed he invites me over for the weekend. Do you think he really likes me, or just my skills?:eusa_thin

I believe they are intended for the covered front porch of the beach house. One thing that they haven't asked for (just yet anyway) is free delivery!

Wayne those chairs look great. And you really suck for the Colt trimmer. I have been wanting one of those for a long time, and what do I blow my router budget on a 3¼ Hp 14# panel raising beast. Oh well there is alway next time
Nice trade BTW. some chairs that I am sure that fun to make for a week at a beach house :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Dave:)

Nice looking chairs Wayne and you got the best end of the deal. :eusa_clap I'm sure rent for a house at Southport would cost a great deal more than the price of two chairs. I like the tool also. Maybe one day that will be in my budget.

Wayne,

Very nice chairs. ... and you got a new tool AND a vacation out of the deal... for doing something that you enjoy doing. Great deal.:eusa_clap

Now, I have to figure out what kind of a project supports the purchase of the next tool that I need. (NO, that is not a symptom of Hidden Wood Guy Disease.)

Thanks Steve! Always something new to learn when it comes to site features!

I appreciate all of the comments, fellas. Somehow, I didn't really enjoy building these as much as I would for myself.:-( Seemed like a production run!

Anyway... The payoff was good!

Thanks again!

Just followed a plan from a "Woodworking Projects" book a bought a while back published by Barnes & Noble. I have built a few things - coffee tables, night stands and plant stands from their plans. Find them really straight forward for this novice, anyway!

I will just have to remember the sun screen when we hit the coast in August.:BangHead:

Thanks DL,

Wayne

His woodnet handle changed, too. There he is Monty NC, the woodworker formerly known as insomniac!

Wayne,

I got one of those some time back while it was on sale and after getting a couple of upgraded bases, it is the cats meow. I hardly reach for the big boy. Check out this link. $45.00 will get you the two bases shown. Very high quality stuff. This guy is the router guru if there ever was one.

Thanks Mike!

I will need to check them out. Even though the Colt is very light, it looks like the Pat Warner bases would add a lot more stability when working with edges, free-hand!

Thanks again,

Wayne
