I ordered and received a "Shorty Splitter" and ratchet handle from Lee Styron right before Christmas and have been using it alot. The splitter is short (adjustable from 1/4" to max of 5/8" above the throat plate) and is .090" thick so it matches up with thin kerf blades. The ratchet handle takes the place of the OEM nut on the splitter mount and makes removal and replacement a 5 second job. Because of this and the fact that it can stay on for most non-through cuts I use it. Initialy the allignment was off by about 1/8" to the left of the blade. I disassembled the mount and blasted out 20 years of sawdust and small furry animals and used my "fine adjusting tool" and now it is dead on with the blade. This is the best $17(shipping included!) I've spent in a while. Highly recommended if you're not using a splitter because of the PIA factor. It saved me from a few kick backs last weekend when I was ripping some surveying stakes for stickers. I had a few that wanted to close up after they were ripped.

Wow, I like that and they mention Grizzly compatability on their web-site. That has been the main reason that I haven't got an after-market splitter...it's hard to find one that specifies it will work on a Grizz.
Thanks for the tip! :eusa_clap

Thanks Mark
The inside of your saw looks like my Delta contractor saw witch is not listed on the site so I was wondering if it would still work in my saw. I guess I will send him a email and see. Thanks

Thanks for the review Mark! I like it:)
From my read it only works with thin kerf blades. The Shark Splitter is required for full kerf. Wish they offered a Shorty for full kerf :crybaby2:

Nice to see a tablesaw with sawdust on it

Roger,
I'm sure Lee would cut you one out of the thicker gauge metal from the large splitters. He is very approachable by email. If you're handy with a grinder and a hacksaw he has the plans for the Sharkguard at the bottom of the page made out of aluminum. You could make one of these but just make it short. The ratchet handle is a pretty common item.
Good luck!

I made a simple wooden splitter that sits in the groove in my ZCI. I made it curved slightly so that exerts a slight pressure on the work piece towards the fence; this actually improved the quality of the cut as a bonus! Easily removed for non though cuts. Works like a charm and cost nothing.
