Nice shop. Tell me more about the Cyclone. Looks like it used to be a 2 hp Grizz unit. Did you make the rest of it?

YOU SUCK.

Thank you

Yes, Golfdad it used to be a 2 HP Grizzly. I bought the cyclone from cycloneseparators.com and the filter from Wynn Environmental. I built the rest with 6" HVAC fittings and adapters. The tower is 1/2" all thread and plywood. Both the trash can and bucket have insulation from 1/2" plumbing around the top as a gasket. The trash can is lifted off the floor 1/4" by 1/4-20 hooks that grab the handles on the can and draw it up to the plywood to form a seal.

DL - the smal bucket didn't have handles and shouldn't need to be emptied that often so it is currently compressed in a sandwich between the two pieces of plywood to form a seal using the all thread. I'll probably change that and make some form of a lift that will make it easier to take the bucket out but I haven't quite figured that one out yet. I may just make wedges.

OK, I see what you mean now. Another option might be to replace the nuts on top that draw the bucket up to the base of the filter with some sort of cam clamp either purchased or fabricated. Just a thought. Again, great job putting it all together.

DL, that's a great thought. I think I could make the cams myself and drill a hole for the pivot pin in the all thread. Hmmm......

Steve, keep us posted if you make your own cam clamps or come up with any new solutions. I would be interested in seeing how it turns out.

I am guessing here, but it looks like you used standard HVAC fittings. Is this correct? I got a new Cyclone, and haven't upgraded my piping to the wide elbows and stuff and wonder if you have or if you are happy with what I am perceiving you have.

Yes, I used standard HVAC snaplock and fittings, all 6". I got it from HD because they carried "y" fittings and Lowes only had "T"'s.
