Shop Organization

Haven't been very good at organizing hardware (ie screws, nuts, bolts, washers etc.) Usually placed small boxes/packages of hardware into a shoe box and placed them in a cabinet. Then I went on the hunt for the right item, rifling through the boxes!

I saw this idea on Youtube , so jumped into this organizer system. I purchased 7 - 2" trays (w/20 removable bins) and 2 - 4" trays (w/8 removable bins) from Harbor Freight. To label the outside of each tray of bins, I applied a strip of melamine to the front of each tray where I can use a permanent marker to identify each trays contents.

Hopefully, this will help to cut down on the "shop hunt for small parts hardware!

Nice job. Sometimes it's important to a search to know where it won't be.
Next step, and an ongoing one, is to have the discipline to put things back. I have a bin that I consider my "to be filed" bin that makes re-filing a little easier.

Looks great and when you fill it up you can add a second story…or make a single story duplex.
