It is a single speed Hawk. Pass it buy. I do have a Hawk Variable Speed VS226 I might be willing to part with.

I also have a Hawk 226VS, and it's a great saw to cut with, although I favor my Hawk G426. If you're looking for a scroll saw, then Scott's saw, which is top of the line, would be a great acquisition.
