Screw Chuck Adapter?

I am currently using this Penn State Screw Chuck (see pic below) for turning some small pieces but
I am finding that the male screw to be a little large/heavy. The male end is 3/8" and I looking for some kind of adapter that would take me down to about a 1/4-20 thread from 3/8".

Any idea where I could find something like this?

If you have a chuck to hold it, it would be pretty easy to make your own and you could use whatever size bolt you choose

Thanks guys! I got the 1/4" mandrel from Rocker this morning to try. I also picked up a dowel screw to make one like Hitch suggested.

Some Lowe's stores used to carry a line of Sam-E fasteners. They are machine thread on one end and lag thread on the other. If you can't find any of those ask for a newel post or furniture dowel screw. They are the same thing.
