Hello everyone, my name is michael, and i live in salisbury. growing up my father built cabinets, additions, decks....things like that. As a kid i remember watching him use his tools and being interested in them. Never got to use them thou "you'll cut your finger off" guess thats where my screen name comes from five fingers on the right, five on the left. After my father was killed by a drunk driver in 2003 i got on disability. I have a neuromuscular disease which makes my hands curl up and my legs are getting smaller. i guess it would be a woodworkers paradise, get paid to be at home, but i am ignorant about woodworking. I live around family members (uncles and aunts), but since dad died they all turned to a**holes. My cousin,Larry, lives behind me and he had a little workshop. he makes little raggity ann and andie "shelf sitters" He and i made an airplane one day and the next i went out and bought a drill press and a bandsaw. recently i bought a router and made a redneck router table. Back in highschool i took drafting classes, so i love drawing designs for projects. Its easier to figure out all the kinks of a project before i get into the shop. Plus to draw it i have to invision it, then when i get to the shop it all makes sense. I have problems thinking of what to make in my shop. I need ideas or some inspiration. I have a degree in IT (network admin. and support) Well i need to go and build a shelf for my gf's son. I am glad i found this site, i know it will help me alot.

To all the servicemen and women in this forum, THANK YOU! uncle sam doesnt want me due to my disorder. God bless you all

Michael, welcome to NCWW. I am glad you could join us. It sounds like you have been bitten by the WW bug. Enjoy it, be safe, and lets continue to keep it "fivebyfive".

As for project ideas you might want to take a look in the member's galleries for a few ideas. There have been some pretty neat clocks put together by a few folks that you should easily be able to build with the some of the tools you already have. Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you.

when I saw your username, I thought immediately that you were a veteran. Five by Five would indicate that you were getting a clear radio signal. I see that it means you have all your fingers. Still part of the ten-finger club, myself. Welcome to the forum!

OMG.........it sounds like someone entrusted Roger "Ready Kilowatt" Deese with a radio at one time. I bet being on the receiving end of that must have been a hoot:lol: .

Hey Michael. Welcome to the group. I remember 5 X 5 as well as Lima Charlie, but the one I always likes was the 4Q4Q4Q morse code we sent when someone P----- us off.

The group here certainly won't get a 4Q from me. Nice bunch, lots of good projects, lots of good ideas and interesting comments.

Welcome.
