I moved here from Alabama and haven't found good BBQ since.

Welcome and probably the best, IMHO, is Lexington BBQ.. I do prefer the vinegar base but none of it is terrible.

Welcome to the foothills Greg. I too grew up in eastern NC and am blessed to live in the foothills in McDowell County. The draw back is the lack of good eastern nc bbq and fresh sea food. I go east a couple times a year and pig out.
