I quit searching a while back but sometimes it finds you. Two Stanley sweetheart#3's, a #4 and a Stanley 42X saw set.

I haven't typed the two #3's but the #4 is a type 18... One year only 1946-1947. Note the diagonal knurling on the brass nut. I have several of these and most have the same heavy casting as the type 17 WWII planes. This one does as well. I paid the full $20 for it at the humane society store in New Bern. I paid $50 for the two #3's, the saw set and the Pepsi sign. That was a deal...

The Stanley 42x ready to go. This is a dual plunger set but the larger round plunger was frozen. I had to take it completely apart and apply a little persuasion with a hammer and punch. I got it apart and dunked it into evaporust for a few days. Wire brushed the inside, oiled it up and it's working like new. Best $5 I've spent in a while.
