RUST ALERT

We're going to have conditions throughout our area that can lead to surface rust tomorrow. It's going to be tempting to open up your shop to the nice day forecasted. Our temps and dewpoint will be going up. If you have a shop full of cold metal there can be condensation and then rust. Leave your doors and windows closed until you've heated up everything (not just the air) above the dewpoint.

That's a great heads-up. Back in the day I had a table saw outside under roof and there were times when I could have used this warning.

Cooler in the s'hanger than outside. Left the hanger door closed and left the passage door open. Today, as I read this, now I know why I did it. Stayed cool in the shop all day. A little uncomfortable but I kept busy.

Unfortunately, I missed this post last week. I opened up the garage doors today to assist my neighbor and came back to severe condensation on both bandsaws and table saw tops.
