I've never used the Stone Mountain bits, but I did order a couple, so we'll see. I have quite a collection of cheap bits, mostly in sets that I purchased over the years, so I'm geussing the Stone Mountain brand will probably be as good or better than most of what I already have. :dontknow:

I believe Stone Mountain is Peachtree's house brand.

I was mistaken, I do have some Stone Mountain bits. I got a set of flush trim bits and a set of pattern bits a while back when Peachtree had them on sale. I have used one of the flush trim bits for a couple of projects and it has worked well. They seem to have decent thickness of carbide with a smooth braze.

What ever coating is used on these bits is not very durable. On the one bit I have used the coating is wearing off and/or chipping off.

So far it hasn't seemed to affect the cut. Time will tell I guess.

I got the three bits I ordered @ $9.99 each today. They also look OK for the price. :dontknow:
