Hey Folks-
Even though the Maloof Rocker is the main focus right now(more pics on that Thurs) I have completed a few notable tasks on the bench. So here it goes:
Built the new sawhorses (or shop boxes from Woodworking Mag)

Here they be done:

Once those were done, got the Woodwrangler (how appropriate here) to help me hoist the top off the floor and on to the new shop boxes. I then finished cutting it to length:

Then, as I figured I was going to John's (Woodguy1975) class for the rocker class-aaaaaand he just happens to have a wide belt sander, I figured I'd take the top up with me and sand it flat. Now this was not as easy as it sounds and I've got to give a big thanks to Jeremy, Jeff, and John for their help on this as this sucker was heavy and it took multiple small passes to get this baby flat:

and now I'm happy to say it's flat!!!

And then-while it was there- the top got it's 1st workout-this is all 4 of us during the class working on our seats on it:

So-it's back in the shop now and ready to move foward-thanks again the all the guys from the class for the help-and to Jeremy as I stole a few pics for this post from his gallery- Now all I've got to do is finish my rocker and I can get back to the bench!
Until then.....
:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:clamps-clamps-why did Jeremy buy all the Stanley clamps from all the local Big Lots and leave me none?
