I thought the same thing until I saw that OP’s jointer has a cylinder for the fence adjustment!

Understood about the round-bar but my point was just that the end-mounted jointer fence is not exclusive to Craftsman.

A number of companies used end-mounted jointer fences on round bars including Sprunger and my Robland.

An intriguing detail to me is the use of an old-school 'star' knob to lock the fence. It looks the same/very similar to the knobs off Delta 14" bandsaws. Possible that was recycled from somewhere else, it's just an unusual knob for this vintage of machine - circled in red below.

I bought a 6" jointer from Woodworkers Supply in Graham that was green, son-in-law has it now. What reminded me was the picture above of the fence setting gizmo, I broke mine in some way and had to clamp it in place at 90* with a small C clamp.
