I need a new axe handle to replace the junk that came in my new axe. The grain ran diagonally across the handle and promptly snapped. Does anyone know where I can find a riven hickory or ash handle (36")? Not looking to break they bank but am willing to pay for quality.

Thanks.

So far I have gone to my local hardware store and looked through the box of handles. Usually out of twenty there will be one that has straight grain. No commercial outfit rives hickory anymore. Your best bet (on the cheap) is to find one sawn along the grain.

Now, if you want to put in the time or pay someone to do it$....

Hey Jonathan,
My son competes in the Stihl Timbersports Series and has ordered racing axes and handles from the following...

Don't know if you would want to pay $55-$75 from Tuatahia, but Baileys has pretty good stuff at a resonable cost and no wait on shipping from New Zealand!
