Bas has reported a post.

Reason:
I'm OK with the argument, but the attack on Stephen Gass is personal. While some may find that "little attorney brain" is actually a compliment, it's derogatory to everyone in that profession.

These Turkeys on the CPSA board could screw up an anvil. Just check out what they've done to us who were ounce in the wood toy business. In case you wondered they put most of us out of business. Now thanks to our old friend Stephen Gass the consumer Protection folks are trying their best to protect us woodworkers from our saws. BOY! I bet when their through with saws they can as in Europe outlaw dado sets. Then they can move on to other things like hammers. Many years ago we woodworkers invented a device which keeps fingers out of saw blades. The cost is zero. It's very effective. It's called push sticks.

Stephen Gass has tried everything in his little attorney brain to force his technology down the throats of us woodworkers who don't want it. All while lining his pockets at our expense. Woodworkers who want Gass's Saw-Stop will buy it. We who do not won't.

We can only hope that the CPSA will be satisfied slapping a few lables on our saws and move on to screwing up another group of products.

Bill,

There were some thoughts regarding the potentially insulting referral to attorney's, so the word "little" was removed from your comments. Thanks for understanding.

I think it's time I reposted this....

RALEIGH - NORTH CAROLINA: A small woodworking organization called North Carolina Woodworker Inc. unveiled a new revolutionary technology today called the SawStopStop. Available as a plugin to the popular software vBulletin, SawStopStop will automatically detect flame wars, political comments, personal attacks and other unacceptable behavior in forum posts that deal with SawStop.

"It's amazing", Jim Campbell (aka "froglips") said, "within 1/100 of a second of a negative posting the thread is pulled back into the database, and a filter brake is applied completely removing the text". Granted, software administrators have to later remove the post manually and replace the forum with a new one, but that's a small price to pay to avoid a flame war. One of the moderators, Bob Mascarella ("aka woodArtz") demonstrated the new technology, by posting the following to the "Test" forum:
This piece of @#@ of a SawStop couldn't even cut a hot dog!
The screen was videotaped to actually verify the posting was present for a split second before being removed by SawStopStop.

But not everyone is impressed. Apparently, Doug Robinson, the president of North Carolina Woodworker, Inc. had tried to force all woodworking web sites to adopt SawStopStop, requiring a hefty licensing fee ("two square feet of shop space per year"). This escalated futher in January of this year, when a member of SMC successfully sued the operator of the SawmillCreek web site, claiming his feelings were hurt in a recent SawStop discussion. The lawsuit claims that this problem could have been prevented had SawStopStop been installed. Moderators from SMC, Woodnet and BT3Central were not available for comment.

If it's an icon of any type, it should be a bomb - or the one below with the guy banging his head against the brick wall.
