Repair to a "water based clear coat"

I own two of these armchairs: Truss Chair | Chairs & Gliders | Gus* Modern

One got a deep scratch in it, and I'd like to repair the finish. The only info on the mfr website is that it is a water based clear coat finish. I'm guessing this means water based lacquer, not poly since this is a production shop, but I don't know. Going off of this minimal info, can anyone recommend a course of action to repair the finish? Thx.

I would use Mohawk Clear Burn-in stick. All you need is a warm putty knife and a practice run or two. You can borrow my electric burn-in tool.

Mike, I did write them but I got quite the non-response.

Phil, that looks like just the ticket. Especially since the scratches are with the grain, I imagine they'll conceal quite nicely. Thanks for the idea!
