Luke, 5-6 coats of Minwax satin wipe on poly, sanded w/320 between coats. Applied w/ lint free rag on the lathe at 125 RPM. It is a real simple, but nice finish. No buffing, etc. I can put a turning on the lathe, sand and apply finish in 10 minutes or less.
