PVC boards

I have a project that I want to use (I think that is what it is) PVC boards that is one inch thick. They are smooth on one side and a small wood grain on the other.

Can I run those thru my thickness planer with dulling or damaging my blades? I only have three pieces six feet long and probably take one run each.

Is that plastic? Polyvinyl cloride?

I would not run that through a planer. Probably won't hurt the planer but not sure what it will do to the plastic. Then again it could melt and make a mess.

I ran some thru my spiral head planer only because I wanted to get a project done and I needed a 1/2 thick board. I went from 3/4 to 1/2 in four passes without any issues

PVC used in construction varies considerably from regular PVC. Construction PVC that I've seen has smooth sides, but the core is foam PVC so planing won't give a smooth surface like comes from the factory. Planing PVC on a dry winter day may result in a hidden planer
