Mike, great looking pens. I look forward to seeing your newest installments. How did the Snakewood turn, I have read that it was rather ornery.

Very nice looking pens! I really have to give that a try sometime... Did you use a scanner for the pics?

Snakewood is real easy to crack even drilling out the blanks takes some time and patients.

I did use a scanner they come out clearer and easier to see the grain.

Very, very nice pens, Mike!!!!:eusa_danc

The finish on the Wenge is superb!! A collection of pens in all of the various woods would certainly make for a very unique display that you should be very proud of, indeed!

Dozer, wow nice looking pens :icon_thum. I couldn't help but notice you had a red cedar pen posted. I've got small pieces of red cedar coming out my ears. Leftover from the pool deck I'm building. I'm giving most of it away to my next door neibor, but I think he's taken just about all he can take. I sure would like to find a few good homes for the leftover shorts it's mainly it's 4x4 and 2x6. I figured the 4x4 shorts could be turned into something on a lathe and the 2x6's might could be resawed into pen blanks. Next will be 4/4 x 5 1/2" deck plank...

I really don't want to have to burn the good pieces of leftover, with a little effort I know someone can make some nice stuff out of it.

Please send me a PM if your interested and we can discuss details...

Thanks

Mike, your pens look good! I've never tried inlay, but have the cross-cut. They are a little trickier and will certainly tell you if you tools are not sharp - the grain has a tendency to tear a little more than straight grain. I love how they look. Keep up the good work.
