I am looking for detailed plans for building a loom. Have looked at a number of online sites but have not found a useful set of plans, just ads for buying already built looms. I'd like to build my own machine, but have no first hand knowledge on which to work up my own plans, so I need detailed plans to work from. Has anyone out there built a loom who might share your plans/ideas/advice or does anyone know a source where I could buy a set of plans. This is to be a full sized, floor based loom that someone can sit at and weave. Thanks.

Ray,

I found this page. http://www.cvmt.com/construireUS.htm

The PDF link doesn't work but the HTML stuff seems pretty thorough. I live right down the road in Southern Pines. If you need help with the heavy lifting let me know. w_sobat@hotmail.com Unfortunately I leave in a week or so to go to Afghanistan and won't be back until around June 1st. Good luck.

Ray,
If you fail to elicit responses on your post here I encourage you to PM members Mike Davis or Tarhead. Both are good resources for Weaver's Looms and are generous in sharing it :icon_thum

Thanks much Willie. Actually this is a page I had found and it does have some good information. Will use much of this information I'm sure. Unfortunately it leaves a little to be desired on details. Good to know you're close by and thanks for the offer re: heavy lifting. More importantly though, take good care in Afghanistan. Maybe we'll meet sometime upon your safe return to Southern Pines.

Mark Anderson made this one:

LOML has been looking for a used loom for some time. She really wants a "Wolf-something". i think it is the only one that is semi-portable.

Willie,
Walnutjerry's lovely and talented wife is a weaver. He may be able to shed some light on this.
Mark

We have bought the looms LOML has. So I am not much help on plans. However, she is thinking of selling one of the looms. If interested pm me for more information.

Hey Chris, Thanks for the reply. Is Mark Anderson a member of NCWW? I looked in the members list but didn't see him listed if so. How would I get in touch?

Mark Anderson has a unique member name :brolleyes
It's Mark Anderson and the link is his profile.
I had confused him with Tarhead (Mark Fogelman) in my earlier post :BangHead:

Apologies to both Marks :eusa_pray
