Planer Rollers?

I'm wondering about the rollers in my DW725 planer. Is there something I can clean/rejuvenate them with or should I just plan to replace them. Today I was planing a huge pile of cherry and found that the rollers sometimes slipped and they were covered with dust or very tiny chips from the planer. Seems like maybe the rollers are sticky and then once they get enough chips on them, the stop gripping the wood like they should. The planer must be 10 years old if not a bit more. Do you supposed the rollers have just deteriorated to the point of needing replacement?

You could be right but on my 735 I found that when the knives are dull the roller slipped. Once I put in new sharp knives it was like a new machine. Just my experience.
