Pin router for your shop

Just ran across this, and thought I'd pass it along for anyone interested.

However, it's also something that would be plenty easy enough to make on your own, and less expensive to boot. I don't know if I'll make one or not, as I use a pattern bit and masters, and they work just fine for me.

Nice idea for small inlays too shallow for a pattern bit.

I made some small bowls & trays with mine. Bought it when MLCS first offered. It's easier to install with a helper to keep the pin alignment while mounting. In case you're wondering, I took the inside down to 3/4" with the pattern and 1/2" spiral. Then smooth out with a bearing dish cutter without using the daisy.

I saw this in one of their older catalogs, but didn't think to check the website for videos. I was thinking the price seemed a little low for it to be very good, but after seeing it in action as opposed to the catalog picture I see that there are less parts to it then I thought and it seems to work fairly well. I might have to reconsider it and determine whether it would make any planned projects easier and more consistently repeatable. :eusa_thin

I figure I could make one for less then $10, wouldn't look as pretty, but would work the same, no prob.
