Parts Exchange??

Anyone ever suggested a Free parts forum or parts exchange?

My benchtop Ridgid planer recently died. I have a few brand new parts, and while taking it apart enough to determine it wasn't going to survive, I now have access to several small gears chains.

That brought up the idea of a parts forum. I'm sure we all have discarded old or dying machines that some parts could be scavenged from.

What do you think?

I like the idea.

I always feel guilty throwing away broken power tools when useable parts remain.

It is a GREAT idea David.
I think in the past people have simply posted "I have a "Rigid XXX" does anyone want it for parts before it heads to the recycle center"
Kind of the same thing since I am not sure someone would know I need a specific part as a spare...

I would simply list it in the "For Sale / Wanted forum.

I think it's a great idea. Some of these older Delta machines are very hard finding parts for.
