The shop made wood dovetailed full extension drawer slides is what took it over the top for me...that and the inlay work 8-O8-O8-O8-O8-O

I admit I don't know all my wood species. But weren't those slides made out of the same wood they used to make wooden clock gears from? It was a self lubricating wood, I beleive.

I think that you're talking about Lignum vitae. Funny he doesn't seem to mention the wood species that the slides are made of.
