I wonder if the halogen radient heater (ProFusion Halogen Heater — 3-Setting, Pole-Mounted) would be good to hangfrom the ceiling in my garage shop? rated for 5200 sq ft and is 1500 watts. Says its pole mounted but where theres a will...

Thoughts?

Seems simple enough - maybe 18" of closet rod glued and screwed into a hole in a short piece of 2x4 that can be attached to ceiling joists. Would it aim at enough places? I don't really understand how they rate radient heaters by the square foot. It's really more about line of sight and not too many linear feet. I have a little round radiant heater that I love. You can go out in a cold garage and immediately warm yourself as long as you are working in one spot.

I figured if I mounted it up by the ceiling (11' ceiling) the circumference of heating would be greater and might be adequate. Add a remote switch (saw one for $23 on amazon rated for 1875 watts/15 amps - controls 3 outlets) and you would be all set.
