Do they allow gawkers like me to just wander around and look at all the kewl stuff? I'm not a turner, but I wouldn't mind seeing some of the exhibits and vendors.

Based on my past experience there the exhibits and vendor area are open to the general public. The demos and other sessions will cost you. I do believe the coliseum will charge you to park however.
