Hello, my name is Jim.
I was urged to come check out this site and so far it's amazing! (Thank you Tyler)

I'm one of those folks who has many, many interests and hobbies. I love gardening, model trains, photography, music (play guitar), competitive shooting, and of course wood working. I've made simple tables, chairs, shelving, most are very basic cuts and joints. My goal is to learn some new techniques and up my woodworking game a bit...

I've been retired now for almost a year. Every day is Saturday. 😀 My career was somewhat varied. I was in the US Navy submarine service for 6 years, then worked at NBC Television Network as a service design and implementation network engineer for 37 years and then finished my working career at the New York Stock Exchange as a Senior Multimedia Network engineer building and supporting digital display technology. That's me in a nutshell. Nice to meet y'all.

Welcome Jim.
Ask your questions, browse, search, and read, and show us what you have done or are doing. We welcome it all: design, fabrication, tools, finishing, methods from CNC to hand tools, vendors, etc., there's lots to cover.

It absolutely does sound like a great time. Sadly I've previously committed to working at the Mebane Train display on May 17th or I would have definitely attended for sure. I will figure out how to purchase some raffle tickets so I can be there in spirit...
