Newbee from Charlotte

I figure I would say hi to the people that have caused a serious drop in my productivity at work due to surfing this vast website. I am fairly new to wood working, but I have been learning quickly.

I live in North Charlotte near IBM, and may be asking if someone might let me barrow some time on their band saw in the near future. My idea to use my metal cutting bandsaw might not pan out.

Also wanted to thank everyone for all the inspiration.

Oh and I thought that I would mention that the top for the island I made is from two peices of semi trailer flooring edged glued. I found the trailer flooring at a yard sale. It's great stuff, also used it for my workbench top supprised more people don't use it.

trailer flooring is often abused, with various nail holes and such, also likely to have bits of metal embedded in it. Purple Heart used to be fairly common in trailer floors8-O
