Hello,

I'm new to site and am trying to navigate my way around. I look forward to getting know some of the members and sharing some ideas and problems.

Anyway, as I posted in my registration, I'm new to NC just moved down here from New Jersey and we're very happy with the local and mosty especially the people (so friendly). We just finished builing a timberframe home in Asheville and I did quite a bit of the interior finish trim work myself. I wroked with the contractors finish carpenter and we both learned from each other (I got the better end of that swap).

Cheers,
Dancam

Welcome Dan, I am glad you joined us. As you find your way around, make sure to Request a Photo Album and show us some pictures of your new home and trim work. I am sure that you are proud of both and I love timber framed home construction. See you around!!!

Hi there Dan!

Welcome to site and I am sure that you will certainly enjoy all of these great NC woodworkers! Many talented folks here, as well as newbies like myself! If you are in the process of setting up shop at your new place, there are plenty of folks here that can offer you advice in the area of buying tools! We love our tools!

You are fortunate to have moved to such a great part of North Carolina and am sure that you will not have any regrets!

Post often and let us see some pictures of the work that you have completed at the new house.

Take care and have fun!

Dan, welcome to NCWW. I am glad you could join us here. I think you will find this site both informative and enjoyable. There are a fair number of our members that lie up in your part of the state and they have recently started a Western NC woodworking club. I am sure you will be hearing more about that shortly.

Thanks to all of your warm welcomes. I'm sure I'll enjoy getting to know a number of you guys and we can share some wood war stories. Ray asked about what part of NJ I'm from and it is a little hamlet called Meyersville, located next to Basking Ridge, New Providence and Chatham. It's a great part of NJ but the tax situation is getting beyond resonable so we exited.

Welcome to the site Dan. I personally have been travelling to Northern NJ for work for the past month or so. I stay in Fort Lee, right at the George Washington Bridge. It's a totally different world up there, it sure makes me appreciate my home state. I'm glad you found us!

Welcome, Dan -- I'm sure you'll love the mountains of NC much more that the traffic-rich midlands of New Jersey. I'm a retired Yankee, too and love the beauty of this area. We're happy to have you as a member of the NCWW forum and look forward to your contributions. Get a Photo Gallery and post some pics of your shop and your projects. And you'll want to jot down 1:00 PM on May 6th for the first meeting of the Western NC Woodworkers Club -- we'll meet in the Conference Room at the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway just east of Asheville. More info to come on the meeting.
