Hello All ! My name is Gene Johnson and I live in Newport. I am a retired Designer/ Draftsman (Electro-Mechanical).
My main interest lies in refurbishing old woodworking machines, I am currently working on an old Walker-Turner 16", wood/metal bandsaw. I will try to post photos soon for anyone that might be interested.
Itried to make my Avatar a photo of the saw as I recieved it but don't know if I was successful until I see my first post.
I am looking forward to learning and possibly contributing to the membership. Thanks, Gene

Please request a Photo album and post some pictures of your work. There are several people here who also enjoy restoring old tools. So there will be a lot of interest in what your doing.

Welcome Gene, that bandsaw should be a great project. I just comepleted my first restoration project, a 1920 12" Crescent jointer. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot in the process. I look forward to seeing your progress on the Walker-Turner, that should be a very nice saw when back in service.
