Welcome to the site Greg. Always a pleasure to more members of our armed forces aboard. There are lots of members that have a special place in their hearts for old hand planes, I'm sure you'll find that pretty fast.

Hello all,
My name is Greg. I now live in Greensboro, hence the gso tag at the end of my name. I recently retired- Greensboro is my 30th address- and hopefully the last before I go into a rest home. I have been a hobbyist woodworker for about 30 years. I have made a lot of furniture for the family and friends and a few pieces for sale at school and church auctions. I really enjoy the Shaker style as well as some early English and American. I have a wide variety of power and hand tools I have collected over the years. I enjoy tuning and using old handplanes-some that that I inherited from my Grandfather- and others that I have bought on ebay or that have been given to me from friends and coworkers. I realize from the site that no one will believe anything without photos- so I guess I will have to dig out the digital camera and learn to upload. I am sorry to say that by the time computers came along I had a secretary, so I really only learned the basics of computing and have a long way to go. I also have a long way to go in woodworking, but hope that retirement will enable me to spend more time in improving. Glad to be aboard! (I am also ex- Navy)

Welcome. PC's are a pain, but they aren't too bad. With 30 years of woodworking experience, uploading pictures will be a breeze for you a

Welcome aboard, Greg -- I was just in your fair city a week ago at the Greensboro Coliseum for the Woodworking Expo -- I'm also a retiree, from the federal civil service 3 years ago. We'll all be interested in seeing your Shaker and period furniture pics -- be sure to click on Other Links and request a Photo Gallery. Then read the Photo Gallery FAQs in that forum to learn how -- holler if you need help. I'm a lover of early American and English furniture, too -- just wish I had the skills to build some! Instead, I build cabinets and the like to make a few dollars to add items to my shop and projects for us. You'll enjoy our group -- have fun and welcome to the site.

Welcome from the guy who messed with your thread. Some how your post got posted twice, and then Travis decided to up his post count by replying to it 4 times with the same reply:lol: So I tried to consolidate the mess and ended up with Clays reply preceding your original post:BangHead: :BangHead:

Obviously I too have only learned the basics of computing.:eusa_doh: :eusa_doh:
