Good evening fellow woodworkers!
I am posting my first message to introduce myself to the group. I have been a hobbyist woodworker since I was a child and followed my paternal grandfather around on construction sites as his assistant. He was a small homebuilder for many years until his death in the 1960's. Since then, I have intermittently done a few projects around the house and have accumulated a few tools along the way and have finally decided at the age of 76 to get more serious and try to learn as much as I can. I still work full time and plan to do so for a few more years if my health holds out. My projects are occasionally done at night when I get home or on weekends that I do not have to work.
I look forward to learning from the group and hope I can be of some help to others as well.
Hopefully, I posted my introduction in the right place.
All the best,
Raymond Gaskins

Welcome Ray,

You seem to be a shining example of never too late to learn. Looking forward to seeing your work.

Ray,

Welcome to the forum.

You have joined us at the perfect time because our annual picnic is one month away. It would be a great opportunity to meet some of the members IRL.

Additionally, We have a "Sandhills Lunch Group" every other month in Southern Pines if you are able to join us. Keep and eye out.
