Hi,

I posted something yesterday and I was asked to stop here and introduce myself, so here goes...

My name is Gregg Dinse. I am 51 and I live in Raleigh with my wife and 2 cats. I started getting interested in woodworking as a hobby about 2 years ago. I have been trying to set up a shop in my basement, but it has been slow going.

I am a member of the Triangle Woodworkers Association and I try to get to their meetings, but only succeed about half the time. I hope to get to know some of you online.

Best wishes,

Gregg

Gregg, welcome. Thanks for the introduction. I too, try to make as many TWA meeting as possible, but sometimes all I have is good intentions. I am a relatively new member of TWA, since the end of last year. You want any more cats...I have a few that I could easily get rid of

Hi Gregg,

Welcome to a really terrific woodworking group. That goes for the NCWW and the TWA. I just joined the TWA too... I've been to the last two meetings. The next two certainly look interesting; funniture design and funniture design. I can use all the help I can get on this topic.

What kind of woodworking projects are you interested in?

By the way, don't worry about going slow in setting the shop up. I think it's better to take a bit more time, get the tools and equipment you really want and get set up whatever way best suits your woodworking needs. No Rush. The journey is a big part of the fun.

Again, welcome. Be sure to request a photo album here and post some pics of your work.

Hi Greg welcome to the site I think you will find a great group of people on here always willing to help out.

I would be interested in finding out more about TWA if someone could send me a pm with a link of some info.

Thanks Mike

Gregg, welcome to NCWW. I am glad you could join us. Thanks for your earlier post about the possible deal on 8" jointers through Klingspore.

Welcome to our merry little band of dust-makers, er, woodworkers! A huge part of the fun is adding tools, so you are in the right place. If you have not been warned about Woodguy disease - let me be the first. It's been known to cause significant holes in your wallet (the "need" for more, bigger tools!). We're always happy to help you want more tools  . Glad you joined us - enjoy the site.

Welcome Gregg, glad you decided to join the fun and sharing. Some pretty top-notch folks on the forum that have bailed me out more than once

Look forward to seeing you around . . . TWA or one of DavidF's famous lunch chats. Meeting up with fellow NCWWers is always informative and fun. And the meetings usually end up with wood, tools, etc., passing from one member to another.
