The name's Stephen. I(We) recently moved to Fairview from the DC area . . . sure glad to be out of Osama's 10 ring!)

I'd fall into the amateur catagory. I'm building a new shop as I rehab our 30 year old contemporary on the west side of the divide.

Hi Stephen. Welcome to the best WWing site on the whole WWW! There are great folks here always willing to share info/advice with a little humor thrown in. Don't hesitate to jump in with questions/suggestions. Also, around here the saying is "no pics, it didn't happen" , so request a photo album. Post some pics of your work and the progress on the renovation/shop.
Good luck,

Welcome Stephen, glad you escaped from DC. I'm in Horse Shoe and work in Asheville. I look forward to seeing some of your work and perhaps you'll also join the Western NC woodworkers group that we are just starting up. Let me know if you are interested and we'll get you more details.

Stephen,

I'll back up the others with my welcome to the beautiful mountains of western NC and to be out of the District! I spent 3+ years there early in my career and I got out as soon as I could! I'm now enjoying retirement in Hendersonville (about 20 miles south of Asheville and WSW of Fairview) and welcome you to the NC Woodworkers website. You'll find lots of helpful people here from across the state with lots of input to help one-another on any phase of making dust! We also encourage you to get a Photo Gallery and post pictures of your new shop as it evolves. Also, put June 10th on your calendar for the next meeting of the newly forming Western NC Woodworkers Association -- use the Calendar link for info on that date on the Menu Bar on the home page.

We look forward to seeing you on the forums.

Stephen,

Welcome to NC and the NCWW site. This really is a great place... both the state and the website. I look forward to pics of your work. Seeing what some of the other folks are doing here inspires me to try some projects.

to quick reply, click on the little icon in the lower right corner of any message, the one that looks like a letter, with a quill-pen on it... then you will be directed to the quick reply message box. HTH. :)
